MATH 125 - Mathematics For Elementary Teachers I (3 credit hours) Offered in Fall Term (3-0-0) The first of a sequence of two courses designed for students majoring in elementary teaching. Topics include problem solving, sets, numeration systems, fractions, decimals and the development of our number system from the set of natural numbers through the set of real numbers. Emphasis is placed on the use of physical representations (manipulatives) for teaching mathematics. PREREQUISITE(S): MATH 110 (or equivalent) with a grade of “C” or higher or COMPASS mathematics score of 146 or higher, ACT mathematics score of at least 21.
