NUR 215 - Physical Assessment Concepts (2 credit hours) Offered in Fall Term (1-2-0) Designed to teach the student a health-oriented approach to nursing assessment of clients across the life span. The primary focus of the course is on health assessment findings of every major body system, with recognition of abnormal findings. The course emphasizes development and practice of the skills needed to perform a comprehensive health assessment. Data collection through comprehensive history taking and physical assessment is focused on health promotion and disease prevention strategies. Students will be able to utilize critical thinking skills in identifying health alterations, interpreting abnormalities, formulating nursing diagnoses, and documenting findings appropriate to nursing.
