The Certificate in Mechatronics prepares students to become technicians in automated manufacturing facilities. Coursework provides the student with a practical understanding of electrical systems, fluid power, motor control, robotics, programmable logic controllers, safety, and quality control. Application-based learning prepares the student to enter industry to succeed in the highly automated manufacturing environment.

Program Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this program, students will possess and exhibit the following core competencies:

1.     Describe the relationships between mechatronics subsystems.
2.     Implement solutions for mechatronics problems.
3.     Understand technical documents and reports.
4.     Perform standard tests, measurements, and experiments, including interpretation of results.
5.     Demonstrate behaviors of an effective member of a technical team.
6.     Perform troubleshooting of a PLC program logic and circuit in a system.
