Criminal Justice (AAS)

The AAS degree in Criminal Justice prepares students for employment opportunities in law enforcement, the courts, corrections, investigations, insurance or private industry Employee drug testing is the norm in this line of work. Medical screenings are required prior to employment. Law enforcement and corrections require training academy completion prior to State of Michigan certification.  

 Program Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of this program, students will possess and exhibit the following core competencies:

  1. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Criminal Justice subject matter necessary for training and employment in Law Enforcement related field.
  2. Categorize the cross-over competencies of Local, Tribal, Regional, State and Federal criminal justice systems.
  3. Demonstrate familiarity and practical application of police procedure.
  4. Demonstrate clear and concise verbal and written communications.
  5. Identify the role of societal tensions in criminal justice interactions.
  6. Identify the role of criminal justice in diverse communities. 

Suggested Sequence for Full-Time Students:
