The Retail Management Certificate of Development is designed for students who wish to seek a career in business focusing on management in the retail industry. This certificate directly feeds into the Business Management Associate of Applied Science degree.
The Retail Management Certificate of Development is endorsed by the Western Association of Food Chains and is relevant in any retail sector as its course content and learning outcomes mirror those advocated by the National Retail Federation.
Program Outcomes:
- Recognize the importance of understanding human relations for employer-employee relations.
- Apply Human Resource Management techniques to assist with staffing, training, compensation, and labor relationships.
- Demonstrate how to interpret data for operating a successful business.
- Demonstrate ability to interpret retail information systems, consumer behavior, pricing, and merchandise management.
Prerequisites: Placement into or completion of ENG 111, or higher.
