Welding (AAS)

This program is designed to prepare individuals for various careers in welding. The general education and a part of technical skills coursework is completed through North Central with remaining technical skills coursework being completed through our partnership with Industrial Arts Institute, Inc (IAI).

Industrial Arts Institute, Inc. (IAI): 25 Credit Hours


Comprehensive Industrial Welding Program at Industrial Arts Institute (760 Clock Hours) 

Curriculum includes: 

  • Welding technology and blueprint reading 
  • Oxyacetylene cutting and brazing 
  • Welder mathematics 
  • Welding automation 
  • Manual plasma cutting 
  • Fabrication 
  • CNC plasma cutting operations 
  • Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) 
  • Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) 
  • Flux cored arc welding (FCAW) 
  • Gas Tungsten arc welding 
  • Introduction to advanced pipe welding
