This program is designed to prepare individuals for various careers in welding. The general education and a part of technical skills coursework is completed through North Central with remaining technical skills coursework being completed through our partnership with Industrial Arts Institute, Inc (IAI).

North Central Michigan College: 36-37 Credit Hours
General Education Requirements: 12 Credit Hours
Program Requirements: 24-25 Credit Hours
Industrial Arts Institute, Inc. (IAI): 25 Credit Hours
Comprehensive Industrial Welding Program at Industrial Arts Institute (760 Clock Hours)
Curriculum includes:
- Welding technology and blueprint reading
- Oxyacetylene cutting and brazing
- Welder mathematics
- Welding automation
- Manual plasma cutting
- Fabrication
- CNC plasma cutting operations
- Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
- Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
- Flux cored arc welding (FCAW)
- Gas Tungsten arc welding
- Introduction to advanced pipe welding
