This program is designed to prepare individuals for various careers in welding. The general education and a part of technical skills coursework is completed through North Central with remaining technical skills coursework being completed through our partnership with Industrial Arts Institute, Inc (IAI).
To register for the welding courses students must contact the Industrial Arts Institute (IAI) at 989-733-4369 and make an appointment for a pre-admission interview.

North Central Michigan College: 36 Credit Hours
General Education Requirements: 12 Credit Hours
Program Requirements: 24 Credit Hours
Industrial Arts Institute, Inc. (IAI): 24 Credit Hours
Basic Welding, Introduction to Blue Print Reading, Fabricating/Machining and Welding requirements must be completed through IAI.

Semester II (Winter)
- IAI - Introduction to Blue Print Reading (3 credit hours)
