ARTS 270 - Graphic Design I (3 credit hours) Offered in Winter Term (3-0-0) An exploration of the aesthetic relationship between type and image. Topics will include the development of the alphabet; the letterform as art; signs and symbols in ancient and modern societies; and ways in which images and text interact to create meaningful communication. The course includes a group experience - working with clients to design visual communication strategies; and requires the development of a portfolio of course work.
