DHY 241 - Dental Hygiene Clinic III (4 Credit Hours)

This clinical course builds on theory-based foundations to advance application of the dental hygiene process of care. Under supervision, students provide preventive and therapeutic services for patients across the lifespan, with emphasis on periodontal assessment, treatment planning, advanced instrumentation, and SOAP documentation (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan). Learning focuses on refining accuracy, efficiency, clinical judgment, and professional communication while upholding ethical, legal, and evidence-based practice standards.
