DHY 240 - Dental Hygiene Theory III (2 Credit Hours)

This course integrates ethical and legal foundations of dental hygiene with advanced applications of the dental hygiene process of care. Students explore professional conduct, decision-making models, licensure, and regulatory compliance while refining skills in periodontal assessment, advanced instrumentation, and documentation using ADPIED and SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) models. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based care, ethical principles, and patient communication to promote safe, competent, and accountable practice. Complements DHY 241 Dental Hygiene Clinic III for applied learning.
