DHY 141 - Dental Hygiene Pre-Clinic Lab (3 Credit Hours)


Offered in Fall Terms (3-0-6)
This course introduces students to the foundational clinical skills required for dental hygiene practice in a simulated setting. Emphasis is placed on infection control procedures, patient positioning, instrument identification and handling, ergonomics, and the development of basic instrumentation techniques using typodonts and simulation units. Students will apply theoretical knowledge from the companion lecture course to perform assessments, demonstrate manual dexterity, and begin the development of clinical judgment. Successful completion of this course prepares students to begin patient care in DHY 146 Dental Hygiene Clinic I.
