CIS 127 - Introduction to Information Security (3 credit hours)

Students are introduced to the current risks and threats to an organization’s data and a structured approach to safeguard these assets. The implications of the current trends in cloud and web based services will be examined. Best practices for safe and secure interaction with digital information will be stressed. Computer hardware, operating systems, software, and devices are introduced from a security perspective. This course will provide a broad knowledge base necessary to continue in the Information Security field.
