EGT 270 - Industrial Internet of Things (4 credit hours)

Introduces students to the Industrial Internet of Things and its role as a key enabler to Industry 4.0. Students will integrate smart sensors and smart devices into Mechatronic Systems to collect process data and use these data to adjust, control, and improve the process. Network and data security will be emphasized. Several different applications will be considered, including Variable Frequency Drives, Barcode Systems, Stepper Motor Indexing Systems, RFID Systems, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems.
