ARTD 130 - Sound Design (3 credit hours) Offered in Fall term (3-0-0) A studio-based introduction to the fundamental methods, practices, and principles of sound design. Students explore: connections between traditional and contemporary media; the art and science of mediated experiences; sound as narrative; and foley art. Topics include microphonic technologies, design of audial experiences, the psychological and emotive functions of sound design, and contemporary and historical research.
