HST 255 - History Of Rock And Roll Era (3 credit hours) Offered in Winter terms and Fall term, Odd years only (3-0-0) Defining “rock and roll” broadly as a family of musical styles, this course presents an overview of rock/pop styles from the 1950s to the present; examines the historical origins and evolution of rock and roll music within the context of cultural, social, political and economic history; and elaborates on the pervasiveness and persuasiveness of rock and roll in modern society.
